No, that was shit, but it was outside the board. I'm talking about the tower girls thing, the TL;DR is

>someone starts making a tower girl game

>opens a patreon for it

>suddenly shoves NTR and cucking into the game claiming it isn't NTR because the girl is not married to you yet

>anons get mad

>/hgg/ anons start making a fork of the game without degeneracy

>aons posts some rips of the game(mostly default RPG maker stuff and stolen assets towerfag claims are "not stolen because I didn't use them in the game") along with someone pictures from the towerfag's blog

>towerfag email jim with a literal "this is DMCA, I own everything, delete this now. - Towerfag" email

>Jim personally permabans the anon, deletes all pics by that IP manually, even the unrelated ones and OC

>anons get pissed and make a meta thread explaining that the DMCA was invalid, the pictures are fair use and that most of the pics deleted weren't even towerfag's

>Jim disappears and only official post in the thread is codemonkey's "w-we don't want to get sued"

>two days later anons forget about it and go on as usual

>jim still missing and codemonkey hasn't posted since

>/a/'s been compromised?

That depends on what you understand for compromised. From an optimist point of view, not really, there are just some factors that have led foreign users to make a few shit posts and things will be fine again soon.

From the negative perspective, which I happen to share and I think it's more objective, 8/a/ is always compromised. The very reason being that there is absolutely no way to prevent users from other boards, and given 8chan's more or less steady increase in popularity, from other sites to come and try to do as they please. Of course, they can be stopped once they have already started, sometimes even immediately thanks to the meidos, but this comes with a limitation, that there needs to be a rule violation or a shady enough behavior to justify removal. The first case in many occasions needs to be accompanied by a report so that the meidos can see them if they happen to be in a thread they don't use, and in the second case it only applies to very specific cases such as raids, spam or the necrobumping in the last months.

>I've noticed a significant decrease in the strictness of meidos over the last couple weeks compared to when I was browsing /a/ half a year ago.

Like I mentioned, the meidos only seem to act on the cases of rule violation, that also need to be reported, or specific cases based on a negative repeated behavior. What I've noticed, and I've seen other anons mention it on /ameta/ as well, is that unlike those conditions, what there is on /a/ right now is a steady decrease in the quality and effort of the posts being made, which does not fall into either category.

So what comes next is either wait for this situation to pass, assuming it will pass, just like getting through a cold with a part of /a/ being uncomfortable yet unable to do anything or retake ye olde debate about whether commitment, adaptation and respect for the board is something that should be enforced by the moderation rather than self moderated by the users, which has always strongly leaned towards the second choice.

I've always just reported obvious rule-breaking newfags and the meidos usually take care of it quickly. For people who are obviously just wastes of a post or otherwise don't conform to the standards of discussion, ignoring them or effortposting in response to someone else keeps things comfy. Derailing a thread to call someone a complete fucking faggot only works in edge cases where they're being a gargantuan semen-gargling cunt.

This is why I never thought just reporting shitposting would be a viable way to keep the quality on /a/ high. To be fair though I am glad the meidos don't go outside of posts that break the specific rules as it could lead to an abuse of authority, I do wish that they would go after posts that do violate the rules without waiting for a report. As for the posters that are add nothing of value, the only thing we can do is ignore sadly.

>>408755

>I honestly feel my efforts are not welcome by the current anons anymore

Do you have any strong basis for believing this? Most anons still seem to care about the quality of the board, but I will say that last week had been slightly lower than average. If anything people have grown more apathetic to 8chan as a whole, and not /a/ specifically.

I keep thinking about abstaining from posting on 8ch altogether and moving here for my /a/ fix, but I'm not sure how the medios would like that, seeing as this is the official bunker. It would also be a pretty lonely commitment to only post here and I've lost much of my strength from trying to grow other small boards outside of 8ch. At least KFist has started doing r/a/dio on here, albeit with a sticky on the 8th.

To be honest that is what I think a lot of /a/nons will start to post here on the bunker more over the course of the next few months since 8chan has lost most of its glory. However, I don't think the bunker will get a sustainable population of sorts until either May or July next year so a migration won't be happening for a long time.

The worst part is this isn't the first time I've seen something like this happen with anons taking the bait since it happened in the rewatch thread with the schizo who thought every girl was a secret whore, and the first Nagatoro thread, but I'm not sure if it was an actual anon arguing against the guy who thought it was NTR. To make matters even worse all of these incidents happened within one fucking month of each other, and the overall quality of /a/ has been going down at a constant rate ever since the thread that started the meido applications since March. There needs to be a serious solution to this bullshit fast otherwise /a/ becomes a true shell of what it used to be.

Also, to clarify the context of your image, a lot of 4chan boards didn't exist by 2007, among them the boards dedicated to specific aspects of being a normalfag and/or failed normalfag.

Not quite. Failed normalfags are people who weren't accepted into normalfag circles, so they take a contrary identity, not by choice, but as a reaction to that rejection. The key aspect is that they never stop identifying and longing for the normalfag values and can even look down on aspects and behaviors of the group they are participating in.

>I want that thread and the deteriorating mess called the loli thread deleting already.

The problem with THAT thread is how /a/ has had that conversation so many fucking times that we already know how it's going to proceed, most of the conversations made in those types of thread are nothing more than paranoia. While the meidos aren't around all the time whenever they notice a thread about how loli is being banned, and the faggots that keep bringing it up have to realize if Japan was able to keep their culture mostly intact after the occupation, then they can survive the Olympics. I can't really comment on the loli thread other than the few off-topic posts are annoying and that future precautions should be taken on future threads.

>I've been here several times per day hoping more will show up here.

While smuglo.li has been bringing more /a/not over here for the past couple of weeks, like the new manga thread and buyfag thread, I don't think a lot /a/nons will come over unless the site is down for maintenance. The problems are getting to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if an exodus is organized in a few months, but I'm not entirely sure if it will occur myself.

>where I wouldn't be surprised if an exodus is organized in a few months, but I'm not entirely sure if it will occur myself.

Not to be a pessimistic fag, but I doubt there will be one.

Fucking /b/ used to be fun back in the exodus, now it's just like half's was before the exodus. The quality of the site has deteriorated to the point where everyone acknowledges it, people actively bitch about the lack of quality threads, yet no one wants to leave.

Half chan's exodus happened because of outrage over the lack of trust in the mods. 8 has had enough moments where it showed admins didn't care a bit about the comunity, but people just brush it aside. I'm not sure exactly why that happens, maybe it's the "at least it's not 4chan" mentality or the alternative image boards are shills which is true, to a point, maybe the people who care left long ago. Thing is, an exodus in a "large" scale won't happen unless at least a whole board worth of anons decide enough is enough.

Personally, I've been making an active effort to browse 8ch less and less because of the community and administration, but I still go back every once in a while for boards I haven't found an alternative yet, such as /loomis/.

I've started to post here and am trying to make it more active. Also the only reason I go on to 8chan anymore is because of /u/ since it is one of the only boards where the mods are decent and they put in an effort to make their board better. I'm getting more and more data points suggesting that there is a shitposter(s) specifically trying to shit up /a/ by bringing up olympics as often as they can. Even though it's 3dpd normalfag shit and has nothing to do with anime or manga, it seems like a fracture point they are using to try to induce crossboarders and non /a/ discussion on /a/. I can't believe that it's just a coincidence that we get an "anime/manga/hentai is dead lets talk about olympics" thread every few weeks, and that derailing in other threads is very effectively done by bringing up the same topic.

The only thing I hope for is that they remove our bunker from the rules so they don't get us here too. The situation might not turn out as bad, but I would rather take precautions than pay the price for thinking we are safe, when we clearly deal with shitposters on a daily basis who get away with shitposting. It seems proper grammar is kind of an way to tell the quality of a board. Good grammar doesn't mean much, but bad grammar being allowed always means the place either is shit or is going in that direction.

Even as a flithy sudaca I've always liked grammar rules, because it forces me to learn the language and things I didn't know about. People who complain about grammar rules are always low quality shitposters.

Sadly I think you guys might be right about an exodus not happening in the future, but I still hope that it will happen since /a/ is going to the point where shitposting is getting too prevalent. and I don't think that the meidos are going to be able to fix it. They obviously can't monitor /a/ 24/7 so some shitposts are going to slip by unnoticed, but there should be little reason for reports to not go through for up to three hours. It also doesn't help that 8chan is dying a slow painful death with smaller boards getting destroyed by newfags or awful moderation, along with /v/ and /pol/ becoming halfchan colonies. I just don't want /a/ to go down with the ship.

>>410726

>The situation might not turn out as bad, but I would rather take precautions than pay the price for thinking we are safe

That is a valid concern, and other /a/not have said that the bunker should be removed from the rules ever since the downtime in April and Codemonkey almost brought the entire site over. I don't want the bunker to be treated as a sacred place that can't be defiled as the increase of shitposting on /a/ is able to happen despite the strict rules and crossborders being told to fuck off constantly.

>repeating myself over and over again.

We've been repeating ourselves for nearly two weeks on how to deal with shitposters gaining more ground on /a/, so there is no problem if you are repeating yourself. Different solutions to it should be taken into account though since I've been saying that we can't rely on reporting and the meidos 100% of the time for a while now.
